Traveling to New Jersey for Abortion Care

What to Know Before You Travel for Care

Coming from out of state for your appointment at Garden State Gynecology? Our team helps patients handle the details of getting here, so you can focus on your care instead of the logistics. Here’s what to know about airports, lodging, getting around, and what to expect once you arrive.

Local Airports

Garden State Gynecology has offices in Morristown and Princeton, New Jersey and Staten Island, New York. Depending on which office you’re visiting, one of these airports will likely be your most convenient option.

Closest to Morristown

Newark Liberty International (EWR)

Roughly 25 to 35 minutes from our Morristown office by car, depending on traffic. The largest airport in the area with the most direct flight options.

Closest to Princeton

Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN)

Roughly 15 to 20 minutes from our Princeton office. A smaller regional airport, convenient if it serves your route.

New York City

John F. Kennedy International (JFK)

About 1.5 to 2 hours from our New Jersey offices depending on traffic. A good option if it offers better flight availability from your area.

LaGuardia Airport (LGA)

Similar drive time to JFK, generally 1.5 to 2 hours from our New Jersey offices. Worth comparing fares against Newark if you’re flying from the Northeast or Midwest.

Pennsylvania

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)

About 45 minutes to an hour from Princeton, and roughly 1.5 hours from Morristown. Often a strong option for patients traveling from the South or Midwest.

Drive times vary with traffic and time of day. Our team can help you compare options once you know your travel dates.

Where to Stay

There are a number of hotels near both our Morristown and Princeton locations, ranging from standard chain hotels to extended-stay options if you’re arriving the night before or need extra recovery time.

We’ll Help You Plan Where to Stay

You don’t need to figure this out alone. Our care team can help you find hotel options near your appointment location and answer questions about distance, amenities, or what makes sense for your timeline.

If you’re traveling from out of state, ask us about assistance covering the cost of your New Jersey hotel stay. Details are below.

Travel Cost Assistance for Out-of-State Patients

We want cost to be as small a barrier as possible for patients who have to travel to reach us. Here’s exactly what our assistance covers, and what it doesn’t, so you know what to plan for.

What We Can Help Cover

  • Your hotel stay while you’re in New Jersey for your appointment
  • Local transportation to and from our offices during your visit

What We’re Not Able to Cover

  • The cost of getting to New Jersey itself, such as your flight, train, or gas money

In short, once you’ve arrived in New Jersey, we can help with where you stay and how you get to and from your appointment. Getting here is something you’ll need to arrange and cover on your own. Call us at (800) 746-0148 to talk through what assistance might look like for your specific trip.

Getting Around With Uber Health

For local transportation to and from our offices, we arrange rides through Uber Health, not a standard taxi or rideshare booking.

What That Means for You

Uber Health is a platform built for healthcare providers to book and manage patient rides directly. Our staff arranges your ride on your behalf, so you don’t need the Uber app, a personal account, or a payment method of your own for these trips.

No Cost to You

Rides arranged through Uber Health for eligible out-of-state patients are provided at no cost. Just let our team know your pickup location and timing, and we’ll take care of scheduling the ride.

Check the Forecast Before You Pack

A quick look at the upcoming weather near our offices will tell you what to pack for your trip. Because conditions in Morristown and Princeton can change quickly, we recommend checking your preferred weather app closer to your travel date.

Let’s Plan Your Trip Together

Call our team before you book anything. We can talk through appointment timing, lodging, transportation, and what assistance may be available for your specific situation.
